The City has received the following application under the Planning Act:

"To amend the Official Plan and Zoning By-law for an 8-storey mixed-use building comprised of 81 residential units and 507 m² of retail uses on the ground floor ... 3005 Bloor Street West & 14 Humbervale Boulevard. A two-storey single-detached dwelling is also proposed as part of the application."

On January 16th the OMB issued their Procedural Order regarding the proposed nine-storey mixed-use building at 2915-2917 Bloor Street West. This document spells out the required procedures leading up to and including the hearing, which is scheduled to commence on June 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m at 655 Bay Street, 16th Floor, Toronto.

Change will come slowly despite OMB reforms

Urban Redevelopment Proposed for Suburban Etobicoke Plaza

Richview Square is a shopping plaza like many others across suburban Toronto: single storey retail at the back of the lot with a big surface parking lot out front. There is one big difference here though, and that's a sizeable piece of property out front—unused green space facing Eglinton Avenue which was formerly reserved as part of the corridor for a future expressway—which is now proposed to be combined with the plaza property in a major redevelopment.

Six Points Interchange Reconfiguration

Following more than 10 years of planning, consultation, engineering, and design, the City of Toronto will begin construction to reconfigure the Six Points intersection in March 2017. The reconfiguration supports the development of Etobicoke Centre as a vibrant mixed-use transit-oriented community.

Dates of Hearings Regarding OMB Replacement

From Peter Milczyn, MPP, October 18th: It is unfortunate that the dates for Committee Hearings and written submissions on Bill 139 have been changed. The hearings for October 23 and 24 have been cancelled and the written submission deadline has been changed to October 18th at 5:00 pm. These procedural changes are not uncommon at the Legislature. However, I want to ensure you that any Etobicoke Lakeshore resident who wishes to make a written submission on the Bill will still have their views heard.
