Residents can act together for the safety of their community through the service of Central Etobicoke Neighbourhood Watch.

Dear Neighbour,

Central Etobicoke Neighbourhood Watch continues to create a new blog post alerting Central Etobicoke Watch members of recent crime stats and trends within the group’s boundaries (which are roughly Eglinton Avenue to the north, Royal York Road to the east, Bloor Street to the south and Hwy. 427 to the west). 150-200 visitors log on to www.centraletobicokewatch.blogspot.ca to read updates. Automatic email alerts and notices are sent out to group followers on Twitter (@CentrlEtobWatch) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/CentralEtobicokeWatch).

At this time of year, please take extra care when working outside your home that all your doors and windows are locked or secured. There can often be a rise in the number of break-ins at this time of year, as criminals might be looking for an easy way into your home.

For more information on minimizing the risk of your home being broken into, please refer to the Toronto Police website on Crime Prevention and Community Safety (Home Security).

For more information on minimizing the risk of your apartment being broken into, please refer to the Toronto Police website on Crime Prevention and Community Safety (Apartment Building Security).
