Update on crimes in 22 Division
Please be advised that auto vehicle theft has increased exponentially in 22 division area.
Typically, vehicles are taken from people’s driveways and not from cars locked in garages. Thieves have found a way to hack into key fobs to access vehicle ignitions. Here are ways to protect yourselves.
1. Keep your keys far from your car.
2. Store your keys in a Faraday Box to prevent thieves from hacking into your fob.

Just south of us – in Sunnylea- 6 homes alone were broken into on November 24th.
This suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, wearing a tracksuit.
At last Wednesday’s Community Police Liaison Committee, our Co-Chair, Tim Crone, advised that this individual has been targeting many homes in a specific area during the overnight hours while homeowners are home and presumably asleep. It is believed that the suspect looks for unlocked doors and/or windows (cutting through screens if necessary) and steals cash and other small items that can be easily hidden while walking down the street. There have been no reports of injuries to the homeowners. The man is brazen and walks confidently up to people’s homes as if he lives there
